  1. World class players might be hard to convince without European footy.
  2. 11 goals from the wing and proven in the PL. He's an underrated player.
  3. As I see it, the difference between the arguments is that the Remain side deals with facts - or at least conjuctures based oh them - while Brexit goes for emotions and every time they are asked if they know what will happen the answer is "I don't know". Brexit's tactic is difficult for the Remain side, because how do you campaign when the other side just ignores facts? Just like what Trump is doing, how can the other candidates respond? Trying to be plain rational just doesn't work with a lot of the voters.
  4. Oh yes, sorry. Freedom of movement for workers is defined in article 45 in the TFEU (Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union). What are the main points in the Brexit camp? From where I live one of the main points is immigration. Especially the Eastern Europeans working there. That's why I assume England would tighten the immigration laws. Plus not being in the EU would mean TFEU would also not apply, not until an agreement between Britain and the EU can be renegotiated, which would take years. Just dealing with the Brexit would take two years so negotiating all the other treaties would take who knows how many years.
  5. Not really bothered. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2596914-a-progress-report-on-fc-portos-barcelona-loanee-cristian-tello
  6. Switzerland is part of the Schengen agreement. As far I understand that agreement is one of the big issues in the Brexit camp because unless you remove yourself from it, immigration will continue like it has so far. Am I the only one old enough to remember how things were before that agreement in the Premier League?
  7. That writer probably didn't even remember Tarashaj. But please tell me, what bollocks about that? That's how things worked before. If the Brexit happens the agreements regarding free movement are off. And if you do want to get rid of the Poles etc. the same rules will apply to footballers as well. If not, then there won't be any change in the immigration laws.
  8. The issue are the work permits. The rules after a Brexit would be the same as for players arriving from outside the EU, i.e. they would either have had to play in 75% of their countries' matches or be considered a special talent.
  9. Oh, one thing: I'd swap the car park and stadium. That way the car park would be more useful for the hotel guests.
  10. Funnily enough that's exactly the location that has been talked about. Great work, Lowensda!
  11. Dier was AFAIK just on loan while we owned Mustafi.
  12. Both Deulofeu and Mirallas are taller than Mane.
  13. There's also two train stations within walking distance, and city centre isn't that far away either. Could imagine a lot of people walking that way after a Saturday game for a few pints.
  14. Seriously? You haven't seen him wander off position? How slow he is, particularly turning? The misplaced passes (not clearances)? The times he has switched off at critical times ("I'm marking this guy and the ball is coming this wa...squirrel!")?
  15. Makelele was much better at what he did. But more crucially, football has moved on and DM's are expected to do more than when Makelel played. Just like forwards are expected to do more than just score goals.
  16. There will be a premium for players signed from PL, especially ones teams don't want to loose. 15 million is last years ten.
  17. Problem with McCarthy has been that yes, he's got a good engine, he's good at passing the ball for distances under 10 yards and he rarely looses the ball. On the other hand he only scores about one goal a season, isn't much help in set pieces (taking them or in headers) and doesn't create chances.
  18. Not every player needs to be 20 or so, especially if we want to compete for CL places already next season. That team needs some leadership, whether it's Dann I don't know. But the lack of was quite telling last season.
  19. Barry, yes. His lack of pace is a problem when we loose the ball. That's also the reason he gets so many yellow cards. Having said that I wouldn't loose sleep if Koeman replaced McCarthy with someone like Krychowiak.
  20. He would be in the England squad if he played for a more fashionable team.
  21. Interesting thing about him: according to WhoScored he played 14 times as CAM and 11 times as ML and at least according to stats he was better in the latter position. So maybe he could be the LM who can play CAM we need? He also scored 6 goals from the wide position against just three centrally.
  22. As the story says he'd replace Stones and I can easily see Funes Mori benched. Yeah, someone with more potential would be nice. But where exactly does this info come from?
  23. I'm not sure if Mata is a Koeman-type player, but Blind could be a good replacement if Stones leaves. He's good with the ball at his feet and reasonably quick plus versatile.
  24. I don't basically care either way. If Koeman feels it's easier to get the team to play the right way by signing his former players, then why not. But it's not like there aren't plenty of good players elsewhere. Of former players I'd start with Schneiderlin if he's available (some rumours suggests this). He was a key player in Koeman's system and is a very good player.
