  1. No-one forces the players and they must know the drill by now.
  2. Nathan Ake was loaned out quite a lot, has played 10 times this season for Chelsea. Chalobah, loads of loans, has played 8 times for Chelsea this season. But obviously Chelsea spends a lot of money on players so breaking into the first team is hard. Not many players make it at other PL clubs either when originally bought for the youth team.
  3. Why? They probably get more money than from elsewhere and their loan system means they have a good chance of getting first team football in a good European league. Anyone signing to some other PL team has a long way to get to the first team, too, but they end up loaned to somewhere like Grimsby instead. So even if they don't make it at Chelsea they have experience from at least one good league in their CV.
  4. He would cost at least 20 million so quite expensive for a rotation player.
  5. Of course he'd be a big signing but since none of Schneiderlin, Gana Gueye, Barkley or Davies can really play in the wide positions either, I don't know how the team would set up.
  6. Sounds like a sound effect from a superhero comic.
  7. I don't think the changes need to be that drastic. Quite a lot of deadwood has been shipped out, some need replacing. Two most important signings now are a dominant CB who is good in the air and a creative player who can play across the front (wide, CAM, up front). Baines will also need an alternative and I suspect Koeman will look for a new GK (well, he has actually said this). Central midfield is finally sorted, which is actually amazing considering where we started last summer (Barry and McCarthy our best combo, now we have Schneiderlin, Gana Gueye and Davies ahead of them). Coleman has improved after a slump and Holgate can replace him if there are injuries. New CB / Williams / Holgate / Funes Mori wouldn't be too bad. I'm still hoping Baines is in a slump but I worry age has caught up with him (those injuries he's had). Lookman will be ready for next season, Barkley would have less pressure to create something with each of his passes if there were more creative players. So depth chart would look something like this: GK: X / Joel RB: Coleman / Holgate CB: Y / Williams / Holgate / Funes Mori / Galloway LB: Baines / Z / Galloway CM: Schneiderlin / Gueye / Davies / McCarthy / Barry LM/RM: A / Bolasie / Lookman / Mirallas / Lennon CAM: A / Barkley FW: Lukaku / A / Calvert-Lewin Yes, numbers would still be short but every signing does not need to be a starter. I suspect that Mirallas and Lennon might also be shipped out and be replaced by younger players, but not necessary in the 20-30 million bracket. More likely they would be Walsh like signings.
  8. Holgate can cover RB and if Barkley is out Koeman might go with 4-3-3 with something like Gana, Schneiderlin and Davies with Lookman and Mirallas on the flanks. But yeah, looks threadbare, especially wide players.
  9. Wasn't he supposed to be a shit manager who never plays youngsters?
  10. That 5'1" is obviously wrong. It looks like he's 172/173cm or about 5'7½".
  11. Emirates cost a bit shy of 400 million with the total cost of entire scheme at around 500 million.
  12. Instead of yapping about Baxter, here's a real rumour. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/583213/Caio-Emerson-Liverpool-Everton-transfer-news We were linked with him briefly in the summer as well, but so was Barcelona. The obligatory Youtube vid:
  13. Seems to be heading to Zenit St. Petersburgh.
  14. Topis is "Rumours without a link" and you post a link. Tut tut.
  15. I don't get this? You don't want players with ambition? Players play for themselves. Someone like Ghezzal has 0% affection for Everton, just like almost every player the level we should be aiming for. I want Everton to try to pursue players above our level, not below or even same level.
  16. This is actually a great vid about him.
  17. Linked again to this fella in more than one place, e.g. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/01/21/arsenal-transfer-news-rumours-gunners-eye-lyons-rachid-ghezzal/
  18. Bolasie works harder and is much more unpredictable. And he's much better at creating something out of nothing.
  19. He gave the club an 80 million pound no-interest loan so yes, he has done exactly that.
  20. I just wanted to remind we had another youngster on the field apart from those two.
