  1. Pro: Everyone was fully committed and played hard (Davies especially - was asked to cover 2/3 of the pitch basically on his own) Con: Williams and Martina are simply dreadful

Pro: Rooney had two chances he should have put away, Sigurdsson another Con: We have gone 405 minutes without scoring a single goal

Pro: That scoreline was very harsh Con: We continue to set up too defensively, horrible for confidence

Pro: 6 out of next 7 at home Con: May take a few games still to find form

  2. Can't possibly be the only one who despises the changing of formations? For christ sake pick one and stick with it. Trying to outwit/tactic the other side by changing formation is basically nothing more than admitting your an inferior opponent. Moyes was far from great but I truly miss the days where it was our best XI come and get us, may the best team win. 4231 or 433 whatever you want to call it for the rest of the season. Make adjustments within that formation to gain a tactical advantage. These past few games have been reminiscent of the worst RM days. Never had less fun watching this team. 0 passion, 0 fight, 0 spirit. It's early days still but those are traits that should never leave a team, hope it doesn't speak to a much larger issue.

  3. It's small peanuts but I love that Besic is being included/valued by RK. Goes to Palfy's point about team spirit and leadership. Lots of it out there on the pitch this year and it will make a difference in close games.

Ref had an absolute nightmare. He should be taken out of the rotation for a few weeks.

  4. The squad as a whole is stronger.

The starting 11 is slightly stronger but with a couple of obvious holes. Koemans overall game plan will deter if these holes are as gaping as we think.

The thing for us is that all those clubs who finished above us are spending money on quality players to further strengthen their already stronger than ours squads, without losing anyone of significance.

Unless we make 2 or 3 huge signings in the coming weeks, people will need to temper their expectations for this season. And I don't mean that in a doom and gloom way. Just don't expect an insurgence into the top 4.

I still think (hope) we'll make a bang in this window. So my I'll wait and see before really judging.

Agree across the board - well said

  5. Does anyone know of targets for the CB/LB spot? Difficult position to fill no? With Williams/Jags/Baines seems like we are looking for a player who will be on the bench for a good chunk of the season. Thomas Vermaelen and Daley Blind will keep much higher wages to sit the bench at champs league clubs so dont see those happening. Who else is out there?
