Apologies in advance to those who hate numbers...
This is a brief report showcasing stats under various formations concerning the much-maligned Keane, Schneiderlin and Gana.
GP Pts For Against GD CS Avg pts Avg for Avg against Avg GD Total* 26 31 29 45 -16 6 1.19 1.12 1.73 -0.62 Back 3 7 5 5 17 -12 2 0.71 0.71 2.43 -1.71 Gana & Sch 14 16 14 25 -11 3 1.14 1.00 1.79 -0.79 Just Sch** 3 2 1 3 -2 1 0.67 0.33 1.00 -0.67 Just Gana 9 13 14 17 -3 2 1.44 1.56 1.89 -0.33 Keane 17 14 15 35 -20 3 0.82 0.88 2.06 -1.18 Back 3 w/ Keane 7 5 5 17 -12 2 0.71 0.71 2.43 -1.71 Back 3 w/ Gana and Sch 4 4 3 11 -8 1 1.00 0.75 2.75 -2.00 Gana in Back 4 7 12 12 10 2 2 1.71 1.71 1.43 0.29 *Starting lineup
**Just Sch has 3 games - two of which the opponent was West Brom (H and A)
These numbers don't tell the whole story...of course. But it's a decent representation given the sample size. I'll update this periodically with only 12 games left.
A few of our general observations are confirmed:
Any Back 3 that includes Keane, Gana and Schneiderlin turn off the tele or leave the stadium immediately.
Keane is a disaster.
Interesting it seems a back 4 with Gana and another supporting mid (Davies/Rooney) appears to work...better.

Whatever credit he gets for keeping Sunderland and palace up is completely undone by the state of the club when he leaves. Both total shambles. Hodgson trying to save palace, Sunderland couldn’t find a solution.
Instilling a belief that 40 pts is good enough is despicable. Get out now before our next manager can’t fix this mess. It would take Jesus reincarnated at this point.

Fuck right off Sam
-
Sam is incapable of ‘going for it’. It’s not his nature and that rubs off on the players. I would love us to start an attacking side but they won’t attack. It would be foolish.
Coleman can’t play two games so quickly and Davies put in a real shift he needs a breather. I would love for them to play but it wouldn’t be smart.

Get him out now. Playing Seamus for the full 90 and his comments on Lookman are simply gross negligence. Remarkable he has put those two in these situations.

Coleman Rooney Niasse off now. This is criminal.
Kenny DCL Williams on now.

We only seem to get into their final third through their mistakes. Even though they haven't really been tested Keane and Cuco have been caught out of position and we should have been 2 down before we even got near their goal.
Let' just hope Leicester down turn up for turn e 2nd half and we stroll to an easy win!
Yes please Morgan. Please go.
I thought this lineup could work.
Very true Bailey but it's been unlike us to capitalize on other teams mistakes even so this is a step in the right direction. We also get Arsenal at a good time.
Last point...Seamus better be off by 60'. Anything else is completely unfair to him in his first game back. Love Seamie.

Do it.

Exactly indeed. Only way we'll get to the next level is the hard way and the smart way - a shrewd manager and owner with a shares vision and the trust/time to put it into practice, hungry players who become a collective that is more than a sum of its parts. We have none of those things at the moment, an owner throwing money at the problem without a clue what he's spending on, a rank average manager and overpaid players who think they're better than they are. Long, long road from here.
Brilliant. Why I've said from day one I want Dyche or Howe. What they have done respectively, albeit with different styles, is nothing short of heroic.
-
I repeat. Any team without Schneiderlin, Cuco and Sandro.
Pickford Holgate Keane Jags Kenny Gana Davies Rooney Walcott Tosun DCL
P.S. Fat Sam is full of complete dog shit when he says Gylfi and Rooney can't play in the same team. He watched from the stands when they played at beat WHU 4-0, then put them on the same field when we beat Huddersfield, Newcastle, Swansea and tied Liverpool. The rot set back in when Rooney got sick and they weren't playing in the same team. And to say they aren't athletic enough...perhaps he should take a fucking look at the fucking statue he has sitting in front of the back four who covers no ground, doesn't play the ball forward, and makes few tackles.
Last thing - said this many many times, as a fan I can accept having inferior talent, i can accept having superior talent and losing, I CANNOT AND WILL NOT ACCEPT LACK OF EFFORT AND DESIRE. We concede and act like a bunch of petulant school children who had their ball stolen. How about we grow a fucking pair and take our ball back. I physically ache watching this team play every weekend. My blood boils at the lack of commitment.

Everybody else has had a go so it's time to play somebody different and in a different formation.
4-3-3
Pickford
Holgate. Keane. Jagielka. Kenny
Davies. Besic. Benni.
Walcott. Tosun. Rooney.
Surely can't be any worse than the drivel that's being churned out by the same players who keep getting selected every week.
Like that alot with a slight change. 4-3-1-2 Slide rooney in behind and let walcott and tosun link up as strikers. Davies and Beni can provide some width on opposing attacking fullbacks.

Any lineup that excludes Schneiderlin, Martina and Sandro.

I still think they will still come good, but that second bit is absolutely spot on
Going back to my point about Giroud, I tend to disagree. The vision was to get the spine sorted for the next 3-4 yrs. Pickford Keane Schneiderlin Siggy Giroud. Missed on Schneiderlin because his attitude sucks. Missed on Giroud even though he was in the building. Siggy being played out of position by RK didn't help. Keane questionable but appears to have been playing through injury until it caught up with him.
It absolutely has not worked (yet) but to me the vision is there.

Hope this thread provides some hope from now until mid-May when the World Cup and summer transfer window kick in. WE HAVE A LOT OF NEEDS.
GK: Pickford, Stek
RB: Coleman, Kenny, Martina, Connolly
CB: Keane, Williams, Jags, Mori, Holgate, Pennington, Browning
LB: Baines, Garbutt, Galloway, Robinson
CM: Schneiderlin, Gueye, McCarthy, Besic, Davies, Baningime, Charsley, J Williams
W: Vlasic, Bolasie, Lookman, Mirallas, Onyekuru
AM: Sigurdsson, Klaassen, Rooney, Dowell, Tarashaj
ST: Tosun, DCL, Sandro, Niasse
Robles and Lennon out of contract
ATM only Pickford and Siggy good enough. Coleman and Bolasie coming back to full fitness. I'm a Gana fan but many are not. No clue on Cenk yet. As of today - CB, LB, W, ST are a mess. Yikes.
Who has some solutions? Who should go? Manager?

Even 15/16 has this beat for me. Turned on the match with dread every single time.
-
Ben Chilwell please.

Walsh rejoined Leicester in 2011. They won the title in 2015-16.
To me the real question is who (if anyone) do you blame for missing on Giroud? IMHO that is down to bad luck. Cannot blame Walsh...or Koeman for that matter. Giroud doesn't solve all of our problems but it certainly would have helped. The lack of a quality forward compounds other problems with the squad. My point is I'm not hanging Walsh out to dry yet.
Since Walsh arrived:
IN: Gueye 7.1, Williams 9.0, Bolasie 22.5, DCL 1.5, Lookman 7.5, Schneiderlin 20, Klaassen 23.6, Onyekuru 6.8, Pickford 25, Keane 25, Sandro 5.2, Siggy 40, Rooney 0, Vlasic undis., Tosun 27
OUT: Stones 47.5, Gibson/Ovideo 7.5, Cleverley 8, Deulofeu 10.6, Rom 75, Barry 1, Barkley 15
The only complete disaster in that lot is Klaassen and I wonder if Koeman pushed that through. We'll get every penny back on Sandro.
I'll end with this and let me be clear I'm sad I believe this, it's just the football world as we know it. I firmly believe we need to stop thinking of 25 million as a great player. In 2018 spending 25 million on a player, especially from outside the premier league, might as well be a punt. If we want top four we need to be spending 40+ on every midfield and forward signing.

Glad some like it.
Palfy: Schneiderlin has played without Gana three times. 0-0 tie to WBA where we also started three CBs. He also started twice with a back four. We lost 2-0 to Utd and tied WBA 1-1.
