  1. Pickford

    Zouma Keane Mina Digne

    Gana Gylfi Beni

    Walcott Richarlison Lookman

It's Burnley so not worried about Zouma being exposed out wide. He will add a third aerial presence to Dyche's controlled long ball strategy.

Who knows who's fit in midfield? Gomes, Gana, Davies, McCarthy, Beni, Schneiderlin. Pick 2.

If Lookman out injured throw Bernard in there. Think Richarlison can cause problems more problems than DCL/Tosun as the striker in this game.

  2. Notes from yesterday:

Richarlison is completely anonymous when needed most. That needs to be fixed more than any other weakness in the squad.

Yes Davies had a bad game. He was put in a no-win situation. Davies is a younger, far worse Gomes. As folks have said knife through butter with those two centrally. Say what you want about Gana, I happen to like him alot, but if we're committed to Gomes we need to be committed to Gana, or a player with a similar skill set.

Sigurdsson's work rate is absolutely spectacular. I cannot remember a player who works as hard as he does in that role. Makes me want to watch the game while on a treadmill.

Spurs clearly the more clinical team but I do wonder what happens if DCL makes it 2 and Pickford stays on his line so Zouma can very easily head it back to him. Never a foul on DCL and Pickford had an absolute nightmare in the first half. Unsettled the back line for the rest of the day.

Said this last week as well. I love Seamus more than any other player in a blue shirt currently. I would love to see him on the bench every week.

Do we go to Mina and Zouma from here? Keane won every single aerial challenge over Kane. Not sure if CB's can be blamed despite shipping 6.

Most discouraging was having to watch Schneiderlin make another appearance. Gutless loser should never be allowed to play for the club.

It's like we're flitting between two extremes. Open, entertaining football under Martinez, awful at the back, anti-football under Koeman and Allardyce, now Silva is trying to beat Man City and Spurs at their own game. Just a happy balance please!

Come on nogs that's ridiculous. If it were that easy we would be in the top 4 not endlessly chasing it.

  4. The game was over when Richarlison missed the first half opportunity. Need to convert your chances against top 6, especially away, double especially when it’s still 0-0.

5 at the back is suicide against city. They crush in midfield. Gomes and Sigurdsson alone in the middle...seriously?

Played well overall just such soft goals to concede. Still light years ahead of where we were 365 days ago. Even 180 for that matter.

Lookman has to start. Has to.

Love Coleman and it’s not his fault as his leg literally snapped in half but he is just not the same player and I finally realize he will never be. Time to look for cover.

    Coleman.     Keane.       Mina.         Digne.

                   Davies.            Gomes.

        Walcott.             Gylfi.           Richarlison.

                                  Tosun.

I'm a big gana fan but I'd be good with Davies in this spot. I was also begging for Tosun to come back in but he was largely anonymous over than his work rate.

Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Davies, Gomes, Walcott, Gylfi, Lookman, Richarlison

Richarlison was a winger last year for Watford so they will be prepared to handle him out there. They had to do it every day in training. Throw them off a bit and see how the CB's handle him rather than the full backs.

  6. We didn't tie because of the ref.

Having said that I feel it's ok to add Lee Mason and Jon Moss should be disqualified from the league. They are truly terrible at their jobs. When I see their faces prior to kickoff an instant and overwhelming sense of disgust and regret wash over. They take years off our lives with their terrible quality.

  7. Not getting any better...

    11-12: 3-1-8 10pts; 12-13: 3-6-3 15pts; 13-14: 4-3-5 15pts; 14-15: 1-4-7 7pts; 15-16: 1-5-6 8pts; 16-17: 2-4-6 10pts; 17-18 0-4-8 4pts; 18-19 0-0-2 0pts

    Utd 4-3-8 15pts; City 3-5-6 14pts; Chelsea 3-2-9 11pts; Arsenal 2-4-9 10pts; Spurs 2-5-7 11pts; Shite 0-8-6 8pts

Last time we beat each team in the league:

    • Utd - April 26 2015
    • City - January 15 2017
    • Chelsea - September 12 2015
    • Arsenal - December 13 2016
    • Spurs - December 9 2012
    • Shite - October 17 2010

Last time we beat a top 6 team away: December 4 2013

    Record in our last 7 seasons (42 games) against top 6 away: 1 - 14 - 29

  8. Very quickly before moving on to Brighton.

Never a penalty but more so than the call itself, Jon Moss' positioning throughout the match was just horrible. Way too far away from most calls. His fitness doesn't allow him to be a qualified prem ref. He cost us the match in many respects. Smalling's first booking was a joke but to not give a second on the pen is even more of a joke. He had a nightmare no other way to put it.

I'll be in the minority here but I don't like Richarlison at CF. Not that he isn'tt good enough there, I think it negatively impacts our wingers. I'd like to see Tosun Richarlison and Bernard for now with Walcott replacing Bernard at 60/65'.

We still can't beat a 'top 6' team.
