So quiet on many names: Cuco Bolasie Connolly Pennington Besic Mirallas Schneiderlin
Some rumors: Niasse Cenk
Completely lost track the other windows end later. Benefits us (uk) teams big time as we can fill squads and then become sellers. Plenty of time to offload most of the names above.

Iwobi would be good. Smalling is a disaster.

Ok seriously Marcel. Stop. This is absolute robbery. He’s outdone himself again. Just spectacular.

Maguire to Utd for 80m. Most of the comments on this thread are absolutely hilarious now that it's two years later

He's only a kid and he's on the fringe. Just checked their team and he's unlucky their three best players play his positions. Iwobi left wing, and Musa and Ighalo up front.
Every foreign club knows we can't get a work permit and if he can't beat out Musa and Ighalo is it really that low? They aren't great players. Musa last sold for 14.5 and Ighalo 20. To Saudi and Chinese clubs.

Webster centre half at Bristol city. Brighton want him and they have been quoted £20 mill plus and then there’s Harry Wilson who is rumoured to be going for £25 mill to Bournemouth.
We've beat this to a pulp. The premium paid by UK clubs for UK players is ridiculous. Targett, Mings, Billing, Ayoze Perez, AWB, Ings just stupid money...not to mention the other rumors Maguire, Tarkowski Dunk etc.

I'll be crucified for saying this but since we missed on Zouma I think our CB cover should be Gary Cahill on a free. Ideally one yr contract but we have to go to two yrs. He'd bring a certain mentality to the dressing room which Holgate and Mina could benefit from. Certainly has enough in him to fill in for a few weeks if need be. Most importantly allows us to chase dynamic attacking players.
-
Pure speculation I don't think this one is dead yet. Now that the big clubs appear to have disappeared I could see us going in on deadline day.

players that need to go away:
niasse besic bolasie mirallas mccarthy tosun pennington, martina, onyekuru
At this point it's looking like Mirallas/Holgate will serve as backup RB so wouldnt be shocked to see him stay. Yikes.
Niasse bolasie tosun and onyekuru all look destined for loans in Turkey. Would be great if we could sell at least two.
Pennington to champ/l1. Martina to eredivisie? McCarthy to Newcastle/Palace?
Not a single link to Besic which is odd. Could he be including in deal with the guy from Mainz? Bundesliga could be his level.

Marcel is tremendous. Absolutely love his negotiating prowess. We've seen on numerous occasions 'here's our price take it or leave it'. Sure sometimes that means we don't get the player but it also protects us from a certain amount of risk. I'm a bigger fan of Walsh than most on here, over time he's proven to have more hits than misses and every DoF has hits and misses, but whoever was negotiating while he was in charge (can't remember if he was just the talent spotter or spotter and negotiator) was TERRIBLE. The players we bought are good players, the fees we paid are not. Surely Marcel would have said Keane 20m or we'll find someone else, Siggy 25-30m or we'll find someone else and so on. Seems like every deal under Walsh/Koeman was 10m more than the rest of the market was willing to pay. We were always the sucker. I just get the sense the list of targets is much deeper under Marcel which allows you to hold other clubs accountable for crazy asking prices.
More work to (hopefully) be done this summer but I know with Marcel here the club is in the best of hands.

This says €40m with €60m buy-back.
Fine with that as long as buyback is two years from now. Want him focused this year.

Went from loving it to sad. Pictures make it look orange with a touch of pink. That shirt is PINK. I’ve been dying for an orange shirt for 10+ years. That said still purchasing

Brentford just rejected £14 mill bid from villa for there winger we are selling Lookman for pretty much the same and selling McCarthy for £8mill?
Dying for Villa to want one of our players. The fees they are paying are outrageous!!! Makes everyone else look sensible which is hard to do nowadays.

Marco has already said that he sees him as a different style than Gana.
I do tho k that once Gana goes, we will replace him, or one of the young lads will get promoted. Delph isn’t a replacement for Gana.
The word replacement is not definitive enough in this case. I understand why Marco said Delph isn’t a replacement for Gana - partly to not undercut the Gana fee and partly because their skill sets are different. However Delph is 100% going to take Gana’s place in the starting XI. So from that perspective Delph is absolutely his replacement. I love Gana, easily my favorite player since he joined us but not concerned about his leaving at this point. Because of Everton’s financial realities I think the best we could hope for with him in the team was 6th/7th due to his style of play. For all of his strengths he did limit the other CMs. Selling Gana is a risk but one worth taking now in year 2 under Marco - i look forward to seeing a more ‘dynamic’ midfield.

He’d improve our team but it’s a no for me because his heart is set on Arsenal. You don’t win things by signing players who don’t want to be there.

Expect the away kit to be released prior to Wigan game. We're playing at the DW and their blue and green of course so unless we're playing shirts and skins or wearing training tops seems like we should have an away kit by then.

Finn nailed it. Not even a hint of an away shirt.

Poor Marcel! He's had another strong summer so far but it's remarkable how much work is left to be done.
We could still be looking at 10-12 out and 3-5 in...
Out: Pennington Martina McCarthy Bolasie Niasse Besic Mirallas Lookman Onyekuru Morgan Cenk Gana
In: RB cover, CB, Gana replacement, AM, ST
Wtf are we doing with 3 senior gk's? Surely Stek is leaving? How hasn't that happened yet...
-
Aidan's point is he just started following them. Richie/Bernard could be coincidence but no reason to add Mina unless there is something to this. Doesn't mean it's a guarantee but the player obviously feels it's close.

Agreed to an extent. Ultimately the seller holds the power so if we don’t get the price we want the player stays. The foreign markets (almost) always pay less than domestic anyways.
