  2. Torino seek Everton talks over Van der Meyde tribalfooball.com - July 19, 2006 Torino are preparing an approach for Everton winger Andy van der Meyde. The Dutchman declared last month he was prepared to stay and establish himself at Goodison Park after a difficult first season in the Premiership. However, Torino president Urbano Cairo wants to meet with Van der Meyde about a return to Italy. Cairo is confident a healthy contract and first team guarantees will convince the Dutchman to move to Turin.
  3. sounded good before that though.... Last Updated: Tuesday, 16 November, 2004, 12:44 GMT E-mail this to a friend Printable version Delron to the rescue? Roy Fairbairn BBC Sport, Germany South African striker Delron Buckley No African star is making a bigger impact in the German Bundesliga than Arminia Bielefeld's Delron Buckley. The South African striker is Bundesliga's joint-top scorer this season with ten goals in 13 games, which is the same total he managed during his entire career with his previous club Bochum. Buckley's revival as a goal-getter is prompting him to set new targets for his international career. "My main aim is to be at the 2006 World Cup Finals with South Africa," says the 26-year-old striker from Durban. Buckley says that his new daughter has helped him find the scoring touch. "I've been inspired by the birth of my daughter earlier this year," explains Buckley. "And of course Arminia suits my style. "At Bochum I spent too much time on the subs bench. "It was very frustrating but all that's behind me now, I only look forward, the future is what counts." Arminia's coach Uwe Rapolder says: "We expected a lot from Delron and he hasn't let us down. "There are few left-footed strikers in the league with his sharpness and speed." Even Bochum's team boss Peter Neururer now seems to regret letting Buckley leave the club. "I knew Delron had it him to be a great striker, when he concentrates on the job he can be world class." The Arminia fans will be hoping that Buckley's goals will help establish their club in the Bundesliga after a decade of failure. The side has won promotion into Germany's top division four times since 1994 but all their previous ventures have ended in relegation mainly because of a lack of goal-scoring power.
  4. beattie's been on the beers and vdm on the vodka clearly....
  5. although there is probably little or no shred of evidence linking us with recoba, if we did sign him i would be well chuffed. he's got (or certainly used to have!) one of the hardest (and most accurate) shots in the world!
  6. nah he did join moscow for sure, think he might of gone to spain though - maybe on loan says on wikipedia that he played at atletico madrid last season
  7. if moyes wants him, then fair enough, bring the jug-eared one back and see what he can do. bet he won't be on much in terms of wages cos no one wants him. as back up for aj and beatts you never know - he could turn his career ruond and be amazing! doubt it though..... he should get into pundritry and work on soccer saturday with phil thompson. pinnochio and dumbo.....
  8. well done timmy! first thing that entered my head was, oh shit this is the biggest shop window in the world. but fuck it, well done timmy, and at least if he did move his transfer fee just shot up!
  9. had my first trip to Goodison last year. planned on going to about 5 games last year, made it to two (one away, one at home) more next year!!
  10. love to see him sign for us, he's QUALITY. whether or not we need him in midfield is another question, but he is a superb player...
  11. fella, love the signature - why the x's and ?'s they players you don't wanna keep or think are leaving/are leaving? cos why's arteta got a question mark by him?!
  12. great great goalie, best we've had since the binman and one of the best premiership goalies full stop. hope we keep him on as a coach
  13. don't ask why, but I need that video - remember the "quenches your thirst, fast...." one... anyone help?!?!?
  14. wouldn't mind him as back-up for Johnson and beattie, especially if he only cost 500k or something.... not a world-beater mind...
  15. Just wanna say I'm delighted with us signing AJ and Lescott. Both quality signings I think. Our first XI next year is gonna be superb! and we've now got some options too... I still think we will sign Huth to be honest, cos I think Yobo's off....
  16. anyone know what's happening with this one yet? looking on the net at the weekend it sounded as if it was a done deal, but all a bit quiet today.... also read in the mail (i think) this morning that he was travelling to wigan to discuss terms
  17. 'kin 'ell, you used to be able to voice an opinion on here - clearly not anymore.... anyway, cheers for your point of view fucktard
  18. i agree goldfish.....BUT......in his position, he's laughing really, cos he just keep rejecting and rejecting and mugs like us keep coming back and bidding more and more.... realistically he knows he can keep rejecting til he gets 10 mil, and if he doesn't then he's kept the best player palace have had in years (which means he gets all the plaudits from the palace fans)
  19. so you'd spend our whole budget on Johnson before getting someone in defensively? now who's mad?
