  1. The low buying price was thought to be because of Rangers' financial problems. If Hull stay up, they'll be receiving record amounts of tv money, presumably that's what the addons are for. A £2m profit on a striker with a 1 in 3 record after two years would be pretty good I suppose.
  2. I'm surprised by how low the rumoured fee is (£5m-5.5m).
  3. Season 4 starts on April 7.
  4. Everton made a formal approach but it was dismissed out of hand. http://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/info/562225/l-ol-refuse-discuter-lacazette/

  6. I made a start on the Last of Us, the opening cut-scene/level is terrific.
  7. Now confirmed: http://www.asroma.it/en/news/corporate_michael_bradley/ He signed for Toronto.
  8. During the audio interview with Martinez, he pretty much said the U21 League is pointless, so it makes sense that several players are going out on loan.

The club commissioned an artist from Marvel UK to design the kids' programme.
  10. What do you mean by that? Players low on fitness or does he have a reputation ? Apparently, both McGeady and Everton want it done in this window.
  11. Did you go to the main page after clicking a link on Google?
  12. He's apparently signing for Toronto in MLS which is quite surprising.
  13. James Corbett (the Evertonian journalist who wrote 'School of Science') was covering the story a media outlet, he asked if those voting on the bids read the bid documents and was told that they didn't. FIFA delegates literally choose a nation without knowing the details.
  14. I removed the offending code a few days ago which redirects people away from ToffeeTalk if they visited using a google search link. I think I've fixed it and it should only be in Google's cache (which will be updated in a few days). If it returns, let me know.
  15. Bit of drizzle on the Wirral, nothing too newsworthy I'm afraid. Although a 99 year old woman fell over in a local car park and broke a femur. Apparently it's no longer lit due to council cut backs.
  16. I've got mixed feelings on the gabecube. It has less games in its library than its Windows equivalent with Steam, yet costs more than a PC and more than a console.
  17. Less of that, I was lobbied at to introduce the "+1" system because of posts like that. Are there any more Scots playing for Ireland that we can sign?
  18. "Allez Everton, ceux-ci sont de la merde"
  19. There was a call for it to be held during the winter, but it clashes with the Winter Olympics so it'll be planned around that too. When Qatar hosted the Asian Cup in 2011, it was moved to January from July. I don't have a problem with it being held in Winter, but the way it was handled by FIFA was poor. They should have been up front about wanting a Winter World Cup or had bidders announce the proposed dates along with the world cup bids. Even then, that isn't perfect because Qatar are happy with a July world cup, it's others who aren't.
  20. When I was deciding which school to attend, the deputy head wanted me to join his school because I'm pretty tall/was pretty well built for my age and he felt I'd enjoy rugby, when I told him I was more interested in football, he told me pupils also become footballers, the latest being John Ebbrell. I was sold on the school from that moment on. On the Metro article, I read something similar in the Daily Mail yesterday. To sum up, it said David Moyes did well at Everton but ultimately his defensive attitude held the club back, now Martinez has come along and changed mentality and Everton are reaping the benefits. That in itself, isn't too bad but the article went on and on and seemed intent on reducing credibility with fans. There were times when Moyes spoke and I felt it got taken out of context by those looking to to vilify him. I like Martinez but don't want to get carried away, we've had just over half a season with him.
  21. No chance. Fans can't even take it when a correct decision goes against their team. Imagine what it'd be like for a player to be singled out on a situation where people are looking to gain the advantage for their team by emotionally traumatising him. Although it can be a positive thing, look at Robbie Rogers' career. He was loaned to Stevenage because he couldn't get a game at Leeds and after he announced he was gay, he retired from football. Then there was a clamour from clubs to sign him, he ended up at LA Galaxy in MLS, that's quite a step up.
