  1. I remember when a Greek guy came on here when we first signed him. He said Vellios' atitutde stunk and that he was aloof. Was he injured when at Blackpool, he only played twice and didn't get a full game.
  2. He's just confirmed it on twitter. Shame.
  3. ESPN's 30 for 30 have made some football documentaries recently.. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaN1-YVm6q_Og5t0IlnqA7w/videos
  4. I'll have a look, but I don't think it's an option right now.
  5. Ledson named as captain, Kenny starts. http://www.uefa.com/under17/season=2014/matches/live/index.html?day=38&session=1&match=2014112
  6. It seems that the singer from Future Islands is an Evertonian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ee4bfu_t3c
  7. Clubs receive the equivalent of being shown 10 times if they are televised less than that. Each time a club is televised they receive aproximately £750k. Liverpool were shown the most, Stoke City the least. Everton's ranking of 7 means they were 7th most televised team in the league.
  8. ABC have announced they're making a new spin-off show from the Captain America film about Agent Carter.. starring Hayley Atwell.. No complaints from me. I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping Dominic Cooper makes the occasional appearance as Howard.
  9. He's been named in Costa Rica's provisional World Cup squad according to Roberto Martinez.
  10. https://audioboo.fm/boos/2143123-the-real-roberto.mp3 - The audio of the above video. Right click on it to save to your pc, left click it to play it in the browser. I think this is a separate interview also from today: https://soundcloud.com/followtonians/when-the-followtonians-met-roberto-martinez-part-ii
  11. The report is available to download at http://www.thefa.com/news/thefa/2014/may/dyke-says-commission-proposals-can-benefit-lower-league-clubs
  12. I liked the 90s movie and the 2012 one! I saw Pain and Gain in the cinema, I thought it was pretty funny but it's been getting a lot of flak because of the Michael Bay factor (and the fact it's a dark comedy based on true events). This is the trailer for the new Gotham series:
  13. It'd also mean astonishingly high wages for players because there'd be i) no transfer fee ii) competition for the best players would increase wages and iii) increased wages would increase the amount owed to the club.
  14. There's been a huge court case in Belgium, a player walked out on his club and was told to pay 880k euros, he's appealed against the amount and now it's been reduced to 220k euros. Essentially, players in Belgium can buy out their own contract for six-twelve months worth of wages and walk away on a free transfer. I suspect we'll see a lot more Belgians in the richer clubs (who'll pay the voiding fee) as a result.
  15. Bit harsh there ! I like Albrighton, if he comes on a free it'd be a coup. Although I do wonder whether he'd leave his boyhood team on a free transfer.
  16. The 2014/15 Europa League winner will qualify for the 2015/16 Champions League and the 2015 UEFA Super Cup.
  17. Apparently, the social media manager tweeted it on the official account instead of his personal one. I still think Liverpool'll win the title. I don't think Man City can cope with the pressure.
  18. Don't you read things properly Matt?
  19. I don't see what the obstacle is at the moment though - if any club want a second (or even a third) team, they can register one at the highest level the FA'll allow and work towards being promoted. The issue here is that Premier League teams don't want to put their academy players up against the likes of Bootle in the league, yet are happy to do so in the Liverpool County FA Cup. Moyes chose not to do it because he thought it'd take a decade to get from the ninth tier to the fifth tier.
  20. I don't pay attention to the Champions League so I find it hard to care. Jaime's solution is the right one, an arbitrary "you're in or you're out", none of this "we'll fine you and restrict the number of players you can use" nonsense.
  21. Matt touched upon it, the league has to remain priority to maintain levels of income. The Europa League is simply a welcome addition. The prize money for reaching the semi-finals is less than it is to have one Premier League game televised. First qualifying round: €120,000 Second qualifying round: €130,000 Third qualifying round: €140,000 Play-off round elimination: €150,000 Base fee for group stage: €1,300,000 Group match victory: €200,000 Group match draw: €100,000 Group winners: €400,000 Group runners-up: €200,000 Round of 32: €200,000 Round of 16: €350,000 Quarter-finals: €450,000 Semi-finals: €1,000,000 Losing finalist: €2,500,000 Winners: €5,000,000
  22. He says that FA should top-up Barkley's wages at Everton to match what he could earn elsewhere because he's being developed better at Everton than he would be elsewhere. That seems a bit absurd to me. The solution is simple "don't be a greedy git Barkley and stick around." I don't understand the speculation recently, common sense tells you that most are better off staying where they are. Even the Mirror are linking the manager with a move away.
