  1. Everton today completed the signing of Yakubu for a Club record fee after successfully appealing for a work permit for the Nigerian striker. The 24-year-old centre-forward has penned a five year deal for the Blues a week after Everton agreed an £11.25m deal with Middlesbrough. The completion of the deal was delayed because an initial application for a work permit was rejected as Yakubu has not figured in the required 75 per cent of Nigeria's internationals in the last two years. However, Yakubu was allocated a work permit following an appeal hearing in Sheffield today, with Everton successfully arguing that the player's credentials to ply his trade in the Barclays Premier League have been made clear in the last four years. Having completed his move to Goodison, Yakubu becomes the Club's record-signing, surpassing the £8.6m paid to Crystal Palace for Andrew Johnson last year. Yakubu, Everton's fourth major signing of the summer, is delighted to become an Everton player. He told evertonTV exclusively: "I am happy to be here. It is a great feeling to come over and meet a lot of good players and see the spirit that they have. "I have always said that I want to play for a club that plays in Europe and I think they have the ambition to move forward and they want to finish in the first four and the Champions League and Uefa Cup and for me that is my dream. "I know there is a long way to go and I want to be part of that - to be successful and to have that dream. "I chose to go to Middlesbrough because they were in Europe. At the moment they are not doing it. I think I made the right decision to come to this place. It is a massive club and it is a great feeling. There are great players and you want to play for a big club." Yakubu boasts an impressive goalscoring record, with only Thierry Henry having netted more Premier League goals in the last four years. He began his career in England with Portsmouth in January, 2003. He netted 36 times in 81 Premier League appearances for Pompey before switching to The Riverside in a £7.5m deal in the summer of 2005. He continued his fine scoring record there, grabbing 35 goals in 103 outings for the Teesiders in all competitions. Having completed his transfer to Goodison, Yakubu could make his début for the Blues in Saturday's Premier League fixture with Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium.
  2. I hope that Kevin Campbell has a few words in ears. He played for Fenerbache but moved because he was racially taunted bu his own fans (and chairman!). Possibly a reason why Appiah wants out - let's hope he's not friends with Nyarko hey.
  3. Sky Sports News say we are in for him. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_2692989,00.html
  4. Yobo has said he will be apply for his british passport.. Just so you know The guy who runs Kick Off (popular Nigerian football magazine) has told me this.
  5. Does anyone know if Joseph Yobo has applied for a british passport? He has now been with us over 5 years so I beleive that he can apply to be a 'proper scouser' if he wants to. It could be convenient if David Moyes wishes to bring in more non-eu players in the future. He moved to us on the 9th July 2002 (straight after the world cup).
  6. Have you upgrade windows media player to the latest one?
  7. http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp That might fix it - it could be because they have locked your everton tv account to the laptop and they limit downloads to one pc.
  8. Seville's Spanish u21 player had a heart attack whilst playing Getafe. RIP Only 4 months older than me - terrifying
  9. It appears that Liverpool will run out to z-cars against Toulouse in memory of Rhys Jones. Nice touch.
  10. The same principle applies in the country re taxes JD There was some talk about Bob Kraft being interested in taking over EFC a while back. I think it was the usual rumours though. This is a response on the toffeeweb message board:
  11. From the BBC: Steve Gibson also believes Middlesbrough have done the right thing in selling Yakubu to Everton claiming the Nigerian "switched off halfway through last season and we still don't know why".
  12. Ok... Thread is being closed. :crying_anim02:
  13. If Vogel signs it could be a good move for him because he is a very creative player.
  14. I have heard that Lescott is unhappy with playing left back at the club. He spoke to Moyes in private and told him he feels he is more effective as a centre back and would prefer to play there. Moyes told him it's alright because he won't be playing as left back against Blackburn... He was put on the bench (probably because he's been at fault for 2 goals conceeded already) It's up to Lescott to dislodge Yobo or Stubbs now especially as he doesn't want to rival Baines for the left back spot.
  15. They may be able to help you.. https://www.tickets.evertonfc.com/tickets/ You may need to sign up for Evertonia (costs £24) so that you can be guaranteed tickets but I don't think you'll need to personally. Newcastle game isn't up on the tickets site just yet so I'd suggest emailing boxoffice@evertonfc.com and asking there.. I don't think you will get a response to tuesday because it's the bank holiday weekend.
  16. Yeah I agree mate. I'm sick of those fans from Wallasey going over to Liverpool thinking they are all scousers.
  17. Another Wirral Evertonian Welcome..
  18. http://lyon.theoffside.com/transfers/valen...nt-juninho.html Someone has publicised Valencia's tactics - seems like they could be all mouth and no trousers?
  19. I suppose you would be better off getting in touch with the newcastle ticket office - NUFC Box Office: 0191 261 1571 I went last year and Newcastle is brilliant.. if you can try and get to "The Gate" before the match - it's basically an indoor shopping centre but pubs instead of shops
  20. I hope he snubs Valencia but it may be too big an opportunity to turn down. I'd love him back here. If it doesn't go ahead the club needs to seriously look at themselves with this and Yakubu's work permit problem it's looking like a farce.
  21. he's creative player.. He's similar to Makele according to Jose Mourinho.
  22. Fernandes is a fantastic talent. I hope you don't sign him The new Valencia stadium looks amazing.
  23. evertonfc92 - you should pre-order this one.. it'll be the best one yet http://www.metrofan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117801 http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/3384930/Fo...08/Product.html
  24. http://soccervoice.com/n0708130.htm This is likely to be true as Moyes has previously had bids knocked back for him twice and scout Phil Cannon is out in Korea watching the u17 world cup.
