  1. This technology is real: http://streamable.com/vuq4 It's called FreeD. It's like watching an instant replay on FIFA.
  2. I'm watching the Israeli-Palestine dispute at the fifa congress. It's captivating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpiVLm6gxVo Palestine made a proposal to kick Israel out.. it was amended to a three point programme, to establish a working group to help with transfers of players, lobby for tax exeption for football products and do something about 5 clubs in the West bank. It's gone back and forth for about an hour now.
  3. Top 10 sports stories on the New York Times at the moment: I imagine it's because their coverage has been quite good!
  4. It's not strictly accurate though,it's a comparison of deaths in construction of stadiums for major events to Qatar's workers death in total. Construction has barely begun on the stadiums. I like the idea of a World Cup in the Middle East but this Qatar business seems rotten.
  5. Blatter will walk it. He has the majority support of every confederation minus UEFA. Australia, USA, some Asian countries and 75% of UEFA are to vote for Ali. If they wanted to, UEFA nations could sign an agreement not to enter the World Cup in 2022 and Blatter would withdraw in an instant. It won't happen though.
  6. US Ministry of Justice document: http://www.justice.gov/opa/file/450211/download I've been wanting to catch up on this all day. I saw the photos this morning of officials being shrouded by duvets by hotel staff. It's like something out of a film. It's just a shame that the investigation only relates to those within the confines of U.S.A.
  7. It seems that the former Everton player Andy King has passed away. Peter Reid tweeted his condolences earlier.
  8. I think part of the problem for Never Mind the Buzzcocks was that once Simon Amstell left, it would be impossible to reach that height again. I thought he was great.
  9. I watched the first three for the first time this week. The third one was strange, after an hour it became Mad Max in Neverland, it wasn't until the last 20 minutes that it became good again.
  10. On 22 May he was interviewed by several fansites for a podcast: https://soundcloud.com/followtonians/the-roberto-martinez-interview-2015
  11. It's a shame they are not making a second series for of it. http://deadline.com/2015/05/forever-cristela-cancelled-abc-1201422698/
  12. Pretty funny: It's for Red Nose Day
  13. Five Mexican children between the age of 11 and 15 have murdered a 6 year old. "They took his eyes out, they broke his lip, they cut his cheek and stabbed him 27 times on the back", said the kid's aunt. "Neighbors said that the older of the teens, the group leader, attacked a neighbor with a machete a week prior to the murder" http://news.yahoo.com/five-mexico-children-detained-over-six-olds-murder-230310989.html http://www.laopinion.com/adolescentes-acusados-de-asesinato-de-nino-en-chihuahua-tenian-denuncias-por-violencia
  14. The Game of Thrones choreography was a little off this week. http://i.imgur.com/mrBtGzG.gif It's now shown at 2am first on Sky because there were too many people downloading it. So it's technically on in the UK before the USA.
  15. There's a film coming out about him in the coming months. Steve McQueen: The Man and Le Mans. It's been put together by ITV's Gabriel Clarke (named after former Everton player Jimmy Gabriel incidentally).
  16. This Seinfeld re-creation is pretty good.
  17. I was actually surprised to see Esther McVey go. She actually had more votes for her this year than she did in 2010 but a lot more people voted Labour than previously. According to the BBC it was an 8% swing.
  18. Apparently overall turnout has been pretty low. I think electronic voting should be introduced at some stage.
  19. An Italian source says the clubs are in negotiations with Chelsea. http://gianlucadimarzio.com/campionati-esteri/premier-league/chelsea-pressing-su-stones-delleverton-la-situazione/ English translation: http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/chelsea-is-in-pressing-for-evertons-john-stones-the-situation/
  20. Tories only need 10 people to pass the line if exit polls are accurate, so UKIP + 8 of the 25 "others".
  21. All three played in a 1-0 win over Italy. http://www.uefa.com/under17/season=2015/matches/round=2000510/match=2016443/index.html
  22. They've shot themselves in the foot as the better South Americans will be away for the Copa America when it resumes.
