  1. Clint Dempsey rips up the referee's rulebook https://vine.co/v/eeYdWiOhJZa
  2. Wirral Libraries have just announced that they now support magzter which is pretty good. Free E-magazines rental http://www.wirral.gov.uk/my-services/leisure-and-culture/libraries/emagazines
  3. I don't quite understand how the tv show is matching the books. Is season 5 of the tv show the equivalent to book 4 and 5 and some of the future or something ?
  4. I'm presumably the only one who hasn't seen Vikings then?
  5. He's mentioned in a few books in Tom Slemen's "Haunted Liverpool" series. That's where I learned of him. Nowadays he'd be in to parkour.
  6. I saw Mad Max: Fury Road earlier. What an experience. I fully encourage those who haven't seen it to do so. I couldn't help but think Immortan Joe looks a bit like Peter Stringfellow.
  7. I was trying to find a live stream for Denis Barrett Baxendale's talk at the "Fan Experience Forum" in Barcelona today. The organisers are tweeting some snippets: "Brand is banned at @Everton - we have to say 'reputation' instead!" #FXF15 "How do we know the 'We Are Chosen' #marketing campaign worked? Well, this #fan tattooed it on her arm!" #FXF15 I couldn't find a live stream but I did manage to find this from March: It currently has 22 views.
  8. The problem I have with it now is that I expect the unexpected and because I'm doing so I'm never surprised.
  9. Everton is briefly mentioned on this Welsh BBC programme http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05y4dfh/liverpool-capital-of-north-wales About 13 minutes in
  10. Steven Naismith on Scotland, Rangers and why he loves Stewarton
  11. I thought this was a good article on Scot Gemmill the coach. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/scot-gemmills-picture-paints-a-thousand-words-but-his-story-begins-with-just-two-the-.127919876 It does sound rather creepy that he was filming the youth teams of Barcelona from behind a fence though.
  12. I saw the Amazing Randi documentary last night and have slipped down a rabbit hole. I've just stumbled across this: Behind the scenes of a magic trick where the magician walks on water https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=745767668830992
  13. If his wage is 50k per week (I think it'll be higher), then the oultlay for him over five years is £13m. I can't really complain at that when Milner's just signed for Liverpool for equivalent of £39m.
  14. Now that you mention it, I can't think of one advantage it has over 7.
  15. Windows 8 is hit and miss. I'll probably take the plunge into Windows 10.
  16. Warner is a strange character. From what I can make out he's hinted that if the FBI drop their charges against him, he'll tell them where the bodies lie. There's a seven minute long video on Youtube. I've been fascinated by the recent fallout but at the same time I don't want to see FIFA as an entity suffer. The UEFA breakaway that was mooted is a step in the wrong direction. I think that there's too much good that goes on for it to fall apart because of the actions of their executives.
  17. I think it's something like six months if the player is registered with another FA but three months if it's the same one.
  18. A 25 year old England international on a free transfer is fine by me.
  19. The FIFA/ FAI story is pretty interesting. http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2015/0604/705872-delaney-confirm-fifa-payment-to-fai/ FIFA paid FAI (Republic of Ireland FA) 5million euros after Thierry Henry's handball knocked them out of qualifying for the World Cup.
  20. I wish Dyke would shut up. It's not "brilliant for football", it's a brilliant opportunity but it depends on who seizes it. The Kuwaiti ANOC President will be the FIFA President if he wants it but his name isn't coming up yet.
  21. I have an S3, it does all I want it to do - it plays and downloads podcasts. Phone calls are way down the list of priorities.
  22. Yeah, something has been off but I can't put my finger on what it is. Part of it may be that last year we had a big event near the beginning of the series but up until episode six this year there's not been as much going on or at least not as many memorable things going on.
  23. Tonight's episode is arguably the best one yet.
  24. The German newspaper Spiegel is reporting that there could be a splinter group from FIFA. http://www.spiegel.de/sport/fussball/fifa-und-blatter-politiker-bringen-konkurrenzverband-ins-spiel-a-1036408.html It's not needed in my opinion, the situation in boxing with all the different federations is ludicrous. It'll be interesting to see who eventually replaces Blatter. There isn't really a fair system that could be used, it's currently 1 member 1 vote but if it was ranked based on team performance or country population, it'd be considered unfair. I think maybe a compromise would be a first past the post system put towards the continental body (UEFA, CONCACAF,CONMEBOL, CAF,AFC, OFC) and then the presidential nominee with most votes out of six would win. It wouldn't work if it was a tie though!
