  1. It's a bit risky - I signed up for a similar offer with FHM and Test Drive.. They sent me a letter to tell me they had no copies of Test Drive left, I got my money back after much moaning
  2. If he is driving from his home in England, does that mean he still lives locally or has he moved to somewhere like Berwick?
  3. Rangers defender David Weir needed stitches in a head wound after his car skidded off the road while he was driving to his family home in England. Weir told Scotland on Sunday: "I was 10 minutes from home when, I don't know, a gust of wind or a patch of ice spun the car around. It was a tricky moment. "I managed to get it on to the hard shoulder, facing the opposite direction but if I hadn't reacted quickly I might have ended up on the wrong side of the road and in the line of on-coming traffic. I don't want to make a big thing out of it but I was pretty lucky."

  7. Do you think he will go on to play for the full Wales side? What position does he play?
  8. After hearing the news of the tragic and senseless murder of 11 year old Evertonian Rhys Jones, we at ToffeeTalk decided that as an Everton community we have a responsibility to pay tribute to the young boy. In late August we asked people how we could commemorate his life in a unique and tasteful manner. The most popular suggestion that we received was to donate a trophy to the league that Rhys' team participated in and allow the teams to take part in a tournament where they could win the trophy. We have been very busy behind the scenes of late to see whether our gesture would be achievable. We have contacted the relevant associations and received nothing short of a positive response; both Liverpool County Football Association and Tuebrook Junior Sports League have all stated their approval. "As a county we symphasise the family's loss and approve of a Trophy being named in his honour." - David Pugh, Liverpool County Football Association "The League Committee have said that they will gratefully accept your offer." - Joe Butler, Tuebrook Junior Sports League Rhys' family also approve of the memorial trophy. Tuebrook Junior Sports League has confirmed that the trophy will be used in May 2008 for one of two competitions, the trophy will be given to either the Cup Final Winners or the Knockout Cup Winners. If you would like to make a donation to the cause, it is not too late. If you would like to make a donation then please send any amount using www.paypal.com to gt4dd102@hotmail.com. Any amount you can afford would be greatly appreciated, we understand everybody has differing levels of expendable income and please do not feel bad if you cannot afford to. This collection is on behalf of all members here at ToffeeTalk in memory of a fellow blue whose life was tragically cut short by mindless violence. I would also like to thank Mike and Liam for all their hard work and making this possible. Louis www.toffeetalk.com
  9. I think 7 points mathematically secures us - dont quote me on that though! http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/s...oup=700718.html
  10. Yeah I just saw that that Mike.. google news had it as a top story :| Rumours are that they were rejected in Febn but now it could be given the green light for west ham (It's probably all tabloid crap from west ham journalists). Leyton Orient should have it if any football team will get it.
  11. SEVENTY-ONE houses and a nursing home could be demolished to make way for the proposed Everton FC stadium in Kirkby. The buildings will be under threat if councillors give the go-ahead for the development, which will include a new Tesco store and other shops, being planned to transform the town centre. Residents in the four streets which lie within the area have organised a protest group in a bid to save their homes. Grandmother-of-three Dot Reid, 57, from Spicer Grove, is leading the opposition to the move. The confirmation that the homes could face demolition, along with the 42-room Cherryfield nursing home, comes in a report to be presented to Knowsley council’s cabinet today (wed). The report adds that residents could be offered replacement housing within the new development. Thousands of residents will also be questioned again on Everton’s proposed move to Kirkby. It is only five months since local authority leaders last canvassed them on their views on the £400m plan. Knowsley council will start the consultation if councillors give the go-ahead today to a draft “vision” for Kirkby – which includes a new stadium, a Tesco superstore and other high street shops. Unless the document is officially rubber-stamped, the council will not be allowed to approve any planning application from Everton. Town hall officials put together the draft vision after high-profile public events over the summer, where residents had their first glimpse of the Blues’ and Tesco’s proposals. The council’s draft vision says the new stadium, supermarket and other shopping and leisure facilities could bring an extra £34.6m a year into Knowsley. The report also says: “It is clear from the consultation exercise that many people have significant concerns about the Tesco/Everton scheme. It is also clear that there is a considerable body of opinion which supports significant regeneration of the town centre area. “It must be stressed that the Tesco/Everton development does not represent the only means of achieving this. “However, it is by far the more ambitious of the two broad alternative approaches on which the community was consulted earlier in 2007, and there is clear developer interest in delivering the potential project. “For this reason, the council has continued to examine the potential benefits of the scheme.”
  12. Wouldnt surprise me... Kings Dock was in one year and we all know what happened to that.
  13. Try this one Jamie... http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SPORT/11/07/ol...ref=mpstoryview Kev Livingstone saying they've found somewhere else... it makes you sick to the stomach doesnt it when they spend all that money and the likes of Sir Robin Wales saying West Ham can have it for free to become one of the top 20 clubs in the world.. Its a joke. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...21/ufnoly20.xml
  14. West Ham were told they can't in February - http://www.london2012.com/en/news/press+ro...02-07-16-30.htm Spurs are apparently not interested Chelsea could move in but they'd have to change their name as that was part of the agreement when they played at Stamford Brdige. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_Pitch_Owners Leaves it wide open for Leyton Orient
  15. Just looked on the BBC apparently Leyton Orient are trying move in... reducing the capacity from 80,000 to 25,000 straight after the olympics.. what a waste of money. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ent/6129870.stm No wonder people have been annoyed by it. It's a shame Kirkby didn't try and get the olympics isnt it!
  16. Is this for London? I remember reading in FourFourTwo that Spurs and West Ham would considering moving into it.. another free stadium for the opposition.. with a bit of luck someone like Brentford or Leyton Orient will be forced to have it
  17. I've borrowed this from a Mick1985 post on Nsno. It sums it up perfectly for me.
  18. http://download.sega.com/u/fm2008_patch/fm...1_betapatch.exe New patch out
  19. Welcome to toffeetalk. Are you an Everton supporter yourself?
  20. Thread should have been titled AJ nets £2million in wage increase
  21. The Austrian teenager has signed a full professional deal today.. good luck to him.
  22. Is the ground move not in the game then?
  23. I was also shocked by it. he signed a five year deal last year. If the rumours of increased wage are true then it's disgusting, if it's true AJ has effectively said to the club pay me x amount or I'm going to West Ham. No club would ask a player to sign a new contract to quash transfer rumours. It's terrible spin from the official site. What has most likely happened is that AJ has had his wages upped to match Cahill and Arteta i.e. 10k a week increase, £2million more than he would have had by the end of the original deal ending in 2011. Bad business. It makes no sense to me to tie a player down who's main asset is pace until he turns 32. Personally, I'm disapointed by it...
