  2. I've heard Vaughan will be going to catch up on fitness, don't know who could go if Irvine is looking for defenders.. maybe Darren Dennehey ?
  3. You could argue that the actions of said referee have galvanised the Everton squad
  4. Any ideas what to get for mummy and daddy?
  5. After today's result I'm not going to argue.
  6. If they went it might help promote the Olympics as a football event.. Drogba wants to play in it aswell.
  7. He's only young 15 or 16 now.. name seems to be getting around he's in football manager and FIFA at the age of 16 (at the most).
  8. This is the press conference Rafa Benitez held Today (well yesterday now) Moyes had his own press conference and greeted everybody by saying:
  9. Would I be right in thinking that Vic is eligible for the Olympic qualifiers? He's under 23 and Nigerian so I don't see why he's not playing for the qualifiers (next one is in March). Nigeria need to win to qualify for the tournament in Beijing (August 8th next year so it nots likely to clash with any of our games).
  10. Rafa Benitez has also thrown his hat into the ring... "Maybe I could be Steve McClaren's replacement if I improve my English. I was being serious. You never know what can happen in the future." He's had a spat with the Chairman over transfer funds apparently.
  11. I'm speechless but highly amused!
  12. A promising young Congleton footballer turned down the advances of a host of high profile Premiership clubs to play for Everton. Twelve-year-old Ryan Read from Burns Road opted to sign for the Blues up to his 16th birthday, after taking in their state of the art new training facilities at Finch Farm in Halewood. Having been at Crewe Alexandra since January 2004, Everton managed to sway the Congleton High School youngster after a number of impressive performances for the Cheshire club. Ryan said: "They'd been looking at me for a while and came and watched me a few times. "There was a few clubs interested at the time but I chose Everton. "They were moving to this new training ground with a good set up, which they've just started using now. "Some of the grass is a replica of the Goodison pitch, the building is really high tech and the Astroturf is the most advanced surface available." James, whose suitors included Liverpool and Manchester City, now trains with Everton on Mondays and Thursdays, with a match every Sunday. He has been enjoying his experience since signing in May, taking his family on a tour of the famous old ground and meeting first team manager David Moyes. James, who lists his favourite players as James McFadden and Mikel Arteta, said: "Meeting the manager was quite nerve racking at first but he's quite nice like he comes across on the telly." Dad Shaun Read said: "When we looked round the place it was fantastic and I think that's what swayed him. "Crewe have been really good to him over the years but when you see interest from a club like that you realise it's time to move." --- I don't know what the name of the kid is either, it's either James or Ryan Read
  13. Jose Baxter (Forward) and Adam Davies (Goalkeeper) are in the England u16 team, they will play on the 29th November, Kick off 7:45pm. Both are pretty good players. Davies looked very solid against Wales (England won 2-0, Baxter scored a penalty)
  14. England to qualify? Nope... Still it's the perfect excuse to bring back the home championships.
  15. It has turned all political now... The political party that Thaksin Sinatawra represented is becoming more popular thanks to how well Manchester City are doing.. An opposition party has team up with Everton to open a few clubs around Thailand and to gain kudos/votes for his party.
  16. When you somewhere in Liverpool... what is acceptable to you? North Liverpool, South Liverpool or city centre? The problem we have is that people who do not want Kirkby (and I include myself in that generalisation) do not want to move to South Liverpool or too far away from Goodison. There has been a lot of talk of a stadium in Everton (near the Wallasey tunnel).. it's been said that it is the ideal location for a stadium. Next to a University named after a former chairman (John Moores), near the Culture Quarter, Project Jennifer (a modernisation of the stores and houses on great homer street) and the first thing you'll see when you enter Liverpool from the Wallasey tunnel. Everton FC will be in Everton the place.. closest stadium to the city centre, to me it ticks all of the boxes.
  17. Arteta usually wears Adidas boots... white with black stripes and a red tongue.. don't know what model they are though :\
  18. Gaz to answer your question... Brian Kidd is well respected as a coach, after his failings as a manager he decided to take a break from football, but later was offered a job by England as coach. He accepted the position but had to resign before Euro 2004 as he had developed prostate cancer. After making a full recovery his friend from Manchester United Bryan Robson offered him a job at Sheffield United to see if he still had the desire for coaching. Personally I wouldn't have a problem with both Kidd and Round getting a job with us.. As I understand we only have Moyes, Assistant Manager and Jimmy Lumsden training the players.. an experienced coach like Round could only improve the standard of training.
  19. That's £122 million in a proper currency Steveo
  20. Yep me too Steve.. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/everto...64375-20133612/ As long as we don't let him near the transfer kitty we'll be fine
