  1. Unless you shell out for the Thomas Cook package seemingly. Part of me can't help feel that that's wrong.
  2. The games will be shown on Eurosport. A vastly underrated channel!
  3. Reminds me of this: I can see more and more Arab players coming over to Europe to play because the quality of the Asian-Arabs has improved tremendously - this was underlined by Iraq winning the Asian cup and it was first brought to the public's attention when Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 with England a ten years ago but the papers glossed over that and lambasted England for not winning a meaningless friendly. Chelsea have been getting friendly with the AFC in recent times and there has even been a suggestion that the Asian player of the year automatically wins a contract with them.
  4. Birmingham have had a 3 million rising 5.5million (on the never ever) bid rejected. I don't know whether the club are holding out for more money or if they want Mcfadden to stay. http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5i-...bhm6suVpr8Uq45A
  5. Apparently staying in USA now.. He'll sign a 5 year deal with the MLS league.
  6. It's a shame Linderoth was sold, he would be perfect for holding role in this midfield.
  7. It's worth mentioning that Moyes said that Lescott can become a "proper central defender and reach 10 goals a season like Tony Adams, Derek Mountfield and David Moyes". Kroldrup wasn't given a fair crack of the whip and Van Der Meyde was worth the risk.
  8. It's a strange one, he's 17 and hasn't been near the first team (Alkmaar aside). He's been given a first team squad number. Vidarsson was above Kissock in the pecking order but it looks like's he going to Holland. There have mumblings that he's more interested in dj'ing than football - I think he'll end up in League One unless we some some more of him inthe coming seasons. Although we may have to wait a while for him to play, let's not forget that Osman never made his début 'til he was 21
  9. Why wouldn't it be? Tesco are not going to deter customers from their store because of parking congestion. That is why in the planning application made they distinguished between a 1,000 car park for Everton and KCC use and a 3,500 car park for retail use.
  10. Good news I suppose. Shame about the Dairy Farmers stadium name. The Thunderdome would have been a better choice for a stadium. A homage to Mad Max What year would they likely to be joining the A-league? Speaking of South Africa, there have been murmurings that Everton have been invited to the Vodacom Challenge in Johannesburg (in July).
  11. To be honest, I'm not a fan of COC at all. It only serves to yuppify the city centre, the beneficaries are companies. Nothing has been done for the residents. In 1990 it was Glasgow.. Moyesy was on the radio this morning saying how it revitalised Glasgow in 1990. On a related note, I visited Edinburgh in March last year and it was nice looking but there wasn't anything there leisure wise unless you like art, designer clothes or Harry Potter! I think the whole COC thing has been blown out of proportion. Liverpool are sharing this 'accolade' with Stavanger and Sandnes of Norway. I don't think that fact has been mentioned in the news and as for Phil Redmond, he's only trying to get Brookside back on tv .
  12. I think that there will be a Great Britain team in 2012. You only have to look at the likes of Drogba, Riquelme and Cahill wanting to play in Bejing to notice that the reputation of the Olympics is changing and the FA, the fiscal bunch they are will want a piece of the pie. It may even be on a rotation basis, the GB olympic team will be english in 2012, scottish 2016, welsh 2020 etc.
  13. Vidarrson has joined FC Twente on trial with a view to a permanent move. It doesn't look like he's going to get that contract then.
  14. Michel Platini reckons that forcing people who want to see a game should have to go with a child as it will stop Hooligans becoming violent.
  15. Raccy - how does the qualification work because apparently it's doubling up as qualification for Angola 2010 and South Africa 2010?
  16. That's extortionate, I wonder why he thinks he deserves 90k a week.
  17. All you need to do is go to the closest gate for your seat, scan your season card and walk in. No messing around at all.
  18. I think a winter break is the way forward but SKY et al won't like because they'll have nothing to report on.
  19. DURBAN, South Africa (AFP) — South Africa midfielder Steven Pienaar stormed out of a press conference Thursday after refusing to answer questions about his late arrival at a 2008 Nations Cup camp. "I'm going," shouted the Everton star after his attempt to set the agenda was rejected by journalists in the Indian Ocean city where Bafana Bafana (The Boys) are training for the January 20 to February 10 tournament in Ghana. Everton manager David Moyes wanted Pienaar to play in an English League Cup semi-final at Chelsea last Tuesday, but FIFA rejected the move and Pienaar arrived here 48 hours after a deadline set by the world controlling body. South Africa open their Group D campaign on January 23 against Angola in the northern city of Tamale and also face 2004 winners Tunisia and Senegal with the top two countries on the final standings advancing to the quarter-finals.
  20. Farcical. the suspension should begin when he returns from Ghana.
