  1. He was an effectively free signing too, all we had to do was sell McFadden and Johnson I hope he's a success - although it shows how unfavourably we are looked on by Sky, it had gone past 2am before they announced we'd signed him despite someone (me!) sending a email to them including links from several newspaper sources and the official Standard Leige website confirming he'd signed. I don't know anything about him but signs look promising. Belgians typically don't cost £12million so he must be something special. He also makes a very nice avatar thanks to his big hair.
  2. I was a bit slow there. 100 people reading this topic!
  3. http://translate.google.com/translate?sour...01-634015.shtml That says it's done - 5 year deal
  4. Interesting that one of the reasons Kenwright given for people not wanting to invest n EFC was because we were the smaller club in the city.
  5. If the choice is between: a world class 80,000 capacity stadium (white seats with blue and red lights like the Allianz Arena in Munich on the inside so the seats are different colours) or a high quality but not world class 50,000 stadium and for arguments sake the 80k is cheaper to the club due to EU funding and the fact we would paying half a contribution what would you settle for?
  6. In an email a while ago from a shareholder. Over the years there have been a few names mentioned with regards to a takeover. Gerry White, Paul Finnegan (Rage Games), Ian Kilbridge (did he ever get back to SteveO?), Fortress Sports Fund and more recently Lakshil Mittal.
  7. Finnan has gone the other way as part of the deal.. good luck to Finnan. Sod Reira.
  8. Isn't that pretty much next door to Man City's and some rugby team?
  9. I've read that there has been interest in buying Everton but Kenwright wants around eight times what he paid in 1999.
  10. Same here - my reaction was simply "oh right, ok".
  11. If Owen did sign, he would be richer than our chairman, that can't be right.
  12. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcas...72703-21647624/ Chester Chronicle say we are in for Owen (Kenwright must be desperate for a big name signing now - if he doesn't get one, some one will want his head will be on a stick this time tomorrow!)
  13. 2.1 the level of actual investment into the club made by each individual member of the board directors above and beyond their acquisition of shareholding. That's going to cause pandemonium.
  14. I was surprised to see another one proposed so close to Wednesday to be honest. I don't think Bill Kenwright will look forward to that one bit.
  15. Bloody hell, the pressure is well and truly on the board now!
  16. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory but I think it's down to the stadium being called in, had it not been called I presume the club would have borrowed against future income streams at a new stadium (regardless of whether we could afford it!) to buy a big name player. As it is the money has been earmarked/ring fenced for the Kirkby stadium.
  17. You will be pleased to know that he was at a kid's football competition the other weekend watching his son, my 11yr old cousin playing for AC Hoylake snapped his son. Apparently Ince still lives on the Wirral.
  18. He's going to be out for a while according to those "in the know". But according to this site we only have 5 players injured: http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_pre...n_injuries.html
  19. I'm with Aaron here, he's named in the Sporting Lisbon squad for tomorrow meaning it's very unlikely to go through. It'll be interesting to see just who does arrive.
  20. It should be very interesting. Philip Carter was appointed to the board so he'll be there too in all likelihood, I don't know whether the new CEO Robert Elstone will be in attendance but in fairness to him Kirkby wasn't his project but is now his responsibility.
  21. It was posted by someone on thepeoplesforum.org who usually has his information correct (PabloMc2).
  22. Apparently the 27yr old Australian goalkeeper will be signing tomorrow as backup for Tim Howard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Theoklitos
  23. I considered one when I was 16 but decided against it, after a few years they look stale and an eyesore in my opinion.
