  1. Failed to pay the Scottish FA £3m for tv rights.. £40m payment owed to English FA expected not to make it. The article below states many clubs are facing a shortfall. Everton could lose out on additional TV money if Setanta go bust. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle6458205.ece
  2. I receive a 4-page A2 pull out of the new kit details with megastore information and preview pictures of the two new stores. There's also a big picture of Phil Neville and one of Phil Jagielka inside. It also confirms that Sergio Tacchini are the travelwear/leisurewear partners (no sign of Ecko though). Did anyone else get it?
  3. It's divisive but there's no real argument against it, is there? People simply say they'd prefer not to, Peter Reid said "there would be blood on the streets" but acknowledges it makes sense.
  4. Why wouldn't they? They are spending £640million in South Africa for 2010.
  5. Pretty much what SteveO has said.. a new holding company would be formed. Shares would be divided between Everton, Liverpool, an events company and Liverpool council. In Germany, 1860 and Bayern share the Alliance arena, 1860 had problems and sold their share of the stadium to keep the club solvent with clauses attached so that 1860 could buy it back at the same price plus interest. Stadium naming rights would be sold to the holding company and put towards construction costs. NWDA are willing to throw a few quid at it European Union funding too FIFA would too if it was part of 2018 bid. It's probably the cheapest option (even cheaper than Goodison refurb) when all is said and done.
  6. Yeah.. it's been like that for at least a year. Another one is to be taken out in August apparently against the SKY tv money. In an ideal world, a director would come in and offer a interest free loan to pay it all off so we can start afresh without paying £4m in interest per year.
  7. He could be a long-term Hibbert replacement? He's played for England at right back
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/8087749.stm Apparently Man City have offered Richards as part payment for Lescott.
  9. I think the average is 3-4million net under Moyes (something like 21million in 7 years). usually a player or two are sold and we bring in a few bodies cheaper. Last season Johnson and McFadden were sold to bring in Fellaini Having said that.. the season before was good.. we brought in Yak, Baines, Jagielka and Pienaar (loan) after using money from the sales of Naysmith, Davies, Kilbane and Beattie and freeing up wages by releasing Wright and Pistone.
  10. Taxi - You were right it was from midnight of the last day of the season
  11. http://www.scribd.com/people/documents/11684572-swerveefc - EFC loan documents etc. some worth reading
  12. Window doesn't open until July 1st.. apparently he's been with Blackburn for a while now though.
  13. All this Liverpool debt nonsense is just that, RBS will renew the loan. At the end of the day Liverpool fans are willing to pay to keep the loan payments up to date, the government own RBS and RBS will want their £35m per annum to keep coming in.

  15. Bit strange that, you'd think NI would want to tie him down
  16. I don't think the article tells the full story? I thought the club were closer to £80million in debt.
  17. I don't agree with that, what you're proposing would see the likes of Cahill and Ronaldo eligible for England because they hold a piece of paper that says they are British.
  18. NASSAU, June 3 (Reuters) - Many players could get a new chance to play international football after FIFA's congress surprisingly voted on Wednesday to remove the age limit on changing national teams. Under established rules players with dual nationality, who had already played for a country's national team at youth level, were only allowed to switch loyalties until the age of 21. A motion from the Algerian Football Association, removing the reference to the age limit, was passed by 58 percent of the FIFA Congress, opening the way for many players to get a second chance in international football. The rule change does not affect any player who was played for the full national team as they are barred from switching nations. The Algerian change was backed heavily by African countries - many of whom will now hope to 'regain' players who have played at youth level for European countries. Algeria could now have access to several players who have featured in France's youth teams such as Lazio midfielder Mourad Meghni. Meghni, who was born in France to Algerian parents, represented France at Under-17 and Under-21 level but has never played for the full national side.
  19. I hope Paul Ince gets the job. I never understood why Moore was given it, he was never a good manager but was seemingly given it because he played for Tranmere.
  20. Why are Liverpool better odds than Sunderland?
