  1. I don't think Moyes likes to loan players to develop them from for other clubs. Personally I don't think there's anything in it.

  3. I was only joking Mark Are the rumours about a trip to New York true ?
  4. That's amazing Bickering like a married couple.
  5. I don't know if anyone's tried this but the Amazon store now has previews available in their books. For example if you want to to find books that mention Everton, you type Everton into the search feature and later on the books mentioning Everton appear. There are some nice anecdotes to be found. For example in Mihir Bose's Manchester DisUnited, there is a comment from Everton's head of communications Ian Ross: 'At the press conference, I was on the media platform with David Moyes and Bill Kenwright. I was sitting next to Wayne. The first question was "Wayne, you must be delighted". He answered "Yes, I am very delighted". I looked across, he was as white as a sheet as he answered. He was simply terrified. In front of Rooney there was a big bottle of water and some glasses. As is his habit he took a swig from the bottle but heard Moyes whispering "Use the fucking glass!".' Also in Deadly Doug by Doug Ellis, the former Aston Villa owner, Ellis reveals that he and Bill Kenwright agreed on a price to bid for James Beattie so that they didn't push the price up as they were effectively just upping the price. Robbie Fowler also revealed that the David Moyes approached Man City about taking him but it was rebuffed by Stuart Pearce in his autobiography. This would have been 2005 and 2006 season. Fowler said he was torn by the decision because he was an Everton supporter as a child but had put up with a lot of abuse due to his time at Liverpool. David Elleray in The Man in the Middle writes about sending off Big Dunc for swearing following a yellow card. He says Joe Royle called him a "pterodactyl" after the game. He says Dunc' was difficult to referee because he'd ignore officials.
  6. This thread is a car crash. I was hoping it would be a debate on whether we think Everton will be "going through the motions" for the foreseeable with the possible exception of a cup win. Instead it's a anti-"soccer" topic with sarcastic xenophobic comments.
  7. It's an American publication, the article was by a guy from Sunderland who imo is one of the best British football writers.

  10. I think he may be leaving in the summer, he signed a deal in 2009 and it expires in June. No one's mentioned a renewal yet? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1159307/Everton-secure-teenage-star-Baxter-new-extended-deal.html
  11. Soccer AM? At time of writing, the Alpen advert has just come on with all the women in tight clothing stretching.. then it switches to men doing similar because it'd be sexist
  12. I think it's a similar set-up to the Glenn Hoddle academy where players released are given a second chance.
  13. I wonder if he would have received more recognition if he was an extrovert. Apparently he'd deliberately give wrong information to press to gain an advantage on the field.
  14. Harry Catterick died at Goodison Park following a 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
  15. I wonder, if the court decision goes in his favour will he be given his season ticket back?
  16. Some parts of the media seem desperate for him to leave, I reckon most haven't even seen him play.
  17. Controversial case.. because he's calling someone French who is French but the word French was included as part of the insult.
  18. Distin will be 34 when the extension kicks in, it seems odd to be talking about him a extension when he has 14 months left of his existing one and players of his age are usually on the decline.
  19. I'm not fully behind this to be honest. He's done well but surely he has now peaked and personally I think it's time to blood the youngsters. I have nothing against Distin but it doesn't seem like the best use of money.
  20. Ring his agency Pro International on 01202 47 48 86 and ask.. can't find an email address
  21. This may appeal to some on here, it's a new magazine that's being launched by some of the 'big names' in football journalism. http://www.theblizzard.co.uk
  22. Does anyone have an idea for how to celebrate the occasion? http://www.toffeetalk.com/index.php?app=calendar&module=calendar&cal_id=2&do=showday&y=2011&m=10&d=27
