  1. How is someone from Sydney able to listen to 5 live? Not that simple unfortunately.. when Everton were looking to move a new stadium the finance people felt it'd only benefit £6m a year bringing in a total of £26m.. i.e. a quarter of what Man Utd make.
  2. I think the second article is the first time I've actually read quotes from Moyes saying flat out he wants money. "Hopefully I'll get the money at Everton to show what I can do" He's never been that direct before?
  3. He's not the first player to say he's been dropped like a stone when Moyes wants him out. AJ and Beattie have said similar. I'd heard the story about the reserves/fitness coach before though. The most shocking part of the story is that he handed in a transfer request because a journalist called him a coward for not doing so!
  4. The contract was fine as it was, it expired when he was 32 He signed for us in July 2007 (expired 2012) He agreed extension in May 2009 (expired 2014) He agreed another extension in March 2011 (expires 2015) Silly really. His originally contract wasn't even up!
  5. Pat Nevin reckons there are rumours abound that a company is close to a deal but want Moyes out. BBC iPlayer - 5 live Sport: Kicking Off with Colin Murray: 18/03/2011 1hr 41mins in

I've just been sent this from the FourFourTwo newsletter: 1. Everton seek the Lesser Spotted Spot-Kick Many fans find it galling to see players celebrate the award of a penalty before it has even been converted – but you could forgive Everton's players if they looked a little merry should they be awarded a spot-kick on Saturday against Fulham. The Toffees haven't been awarded a Premier League penno since their last meeting with the Cottagers at Goodison back in April 2010 – their 31-match spot(kick)less run is the current longest in the top flight. Fortunately, things aren't so terrible at the other end: they have only given away two penalties themselves in the league this season. The only team to concede fewer? Fulham.
  7. Surprised that Mustafi is missing but I can't tell who he should replace - possibly Barkley as I've never seen him play.
  8. Another Video with Niall Quinn, David Gill and Peter Coates: http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=7873
  9. http://www.parliamen...all-governance/ "The Committee will inquire into the governance of professional football clubs responding not only to the high-profile coverage of Liverpool and Manchester United, but also to broader concerns that current and future generations of football supporters of clubs across the country are ill-served by current football club regulations. " There's a video from last week where the former FA Chairman says what he thinks is wrong with governance in English football here: http://www.parliamen...d=7632&wfl=true
  10. Yeah, unfortunately. There's no real interest from local people and when I've been to PP the pyjama gang attend. It makes me wonder whether they think "I'm not getting dressed for this it's only League One" and or whether they'd get dressed for a Premier League game as a special effort.
  11. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2011/02/10/dave-boyle-if-the-3pm-blackout-on-saturday-ended-doubtless-many-lower-league-club-chairmen-would-panic-but-they-could-be-cannier-and-see-it-as-an-opportunity-100201/ Interesting read
  12. I think what he's saying is that being based in Singapore you are unlikely to be a season ticket holder. My point above was that people would be unwilling to pay a lot of money for a season ticket money if the club told fans they were lowering ambitions temporarily. Equally.. some players or even the manager may feel the same and want to move to somewhere that has ambition.
  13. I'm with sapling here, appropiate name really..grows into a strong tree from good foundations The problem is you can't expect people to pay £600+ for a season ticket when/if the club are openly saying that they're cutting back on expenses. People won't stand for it and as Romey does, see it as a lack of ambition.
  14. The money mainly comes from TV revenue. The latest accounts break down as £50m from TV, £20m from match revenue, 7m from from sponsorship The key is to get a better deal for the club from a sponsorship point of view. Match revenue will barely change, even when Kirkby was proposed the club's accounts felt it would peak at £26m p.a. TV revenue is largely down to cup runs and Premier League standing.
  15. So you're saying we'd be Puncheon our weight with the signing?
  16. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/tranmere-rovers/tranmere-rovers-news/2011/03/16/woodchurch-project-steams-on-for-tranmere-rovers-100252-28343613/ Any thoughts on this Romey?
  17. So.. it's essentialy £30m over 10 years from Kitbag, £3m over 5 years from Le Coq Sportif and £8m over 3 years from Chang? £300k over 3 years from Audi too - http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2010/10/14/blues-agree-deal-with-audi
  18. Happy birthday, I'm fashionably late for the party!
  19. For some reason Fellaini divides opinion. To some he's the team's keystone player whilst to others he's just a fluffy giant who stands on the pitch.
  20. MikeO, it's not . It's practically the same sentence:
  21. http://www.evertonfc.com/club/le-coq-sportif.html Is that any clearer? Surely they would have added a "per year" on the end of that ? I was looking at the data in FM2011 10.3 patch and that has it down as £3m spread over 5 years
