There is money for simply being in the Premier league (Basic Award fund/Title Sponsorship Money) which sees the money split into 35 equal parts, each relegated club is given 1 part, the rest are given 2.
There is Commercial Contract Money and Radio Contract Money too.
There is money for being on TV (Facilities Fee fund), money from foreign tv rights (Overseas Broadcasting Money)
There is £800k per place (Prize Money fund)
Manchester United finished 1st say they get 20x 800k
West Ham finished 20th so they get 1x £800k
Plus Parachute payments which means that even if the club is relegated, they'd still receive £48million spread over four years (up from £16m spread over 2 years).
Everton are given money every year, we come to expect it now, that's why it's not mentioned
If we came dead last we'd have £37million from being in the Premier League and £48million in parachute payments.
This is my guess for this season just gone (2010/11):
UK Broadcasting Money £38m
Merit Payment Fund - £10m
Basic Award £17m
Overseas Broadcasting Money £15m
Title Sponsorship Money £1m
Commercial Contract Money £1m
Radio Contract Money £1m
Total: £84million
So.. expect some record turnover news articles in April.
