  1. I think that the media outlook on Everton is beginning to change. This is from Daily Mirror Chief Sports Writer Oliver Holt on twitter earlier: "It hasn't really had enough coverage, probably cos of respect everyone has for Moyes, but what on earth is happening at Everton?" He followed it up with: "Instinct has always been to like Kenwright cos of local connection but aware of Evertonian dissatisfaction about him and regime"
  2. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/bomb-strapped-oz-teen-extortion-attempt-114445936.html I don't know what to say

  5. The journalist Andy Hunter is an Evertonian, he used to write for the Daily Post. I helped with a season preview for a Polish newspaper recently, that'll also be good
  6. Sorry Bill, only just seen that. Will get on it
  7. Here's one I did earlier... http://www.modelfootballstadiums.com/case-studies/old-trafford-stadium.php honest.
  8. I've just found this article on the very subject: http://tandfprod.literatumonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/14660970.2010.497349 Download links are on right hand side
  9. Sorry pete0, but nearly everything you posted in #33 is wrong. Not that it matters any more. Car park - It was the Knowsley who said it would be the most strict in the country, the shop's car parks were to be unavailable for fans, the car park by the stadium was intended for vips and coaches only. Train links - even senior Merseytravel staff privately said it was flawed (I was at one such meeting) and it'd be problematic. National rail too, had concerns (trains longer than station platforms on Kirkby-Wigan line for example). The proposed stadium was only allowed to host x events a year (I think it was 7 from memory). Knowsley Council would have been entitled to the facilities for free, no concerts were allowed because of it's proximity to houses in Kirkby, Knowsley Council had already said this. It really wasn't the money spinner people expected. Also bare in mind, the Sports Secretary of the UK Government at the time was an Evertonian. If he had wanted to, he could have supported the move and help push it through, he didn't. He was on City Talk radio station saying that he didn't support the idea and that he had yet to be "persuaded that it has long term benefits for Everton".
  10. Ajax will play a team which will include John Heitinga, Ryan Giggs, Alessandro Del Piero, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, Louis Saha and Nemanja Vidic It may be of interest to some
  11. Glad it's not just me who wondered that! It's beginning to look like a Monty Python sketch. KEIOC are/were more interested in the long-term stadium plans Everton Evertonians 4 Change wanted to ask a few questions of the board, Robert Elstone responded saying he didn't see the point of it because they wanted his employer out of job. The People's Group want to highlight the problems of the Kenwrightian era and how the boards' decisions have led to the situation we are in now where there is little money left for acquisitions.
  12. The choice of phrase from Hafnia's post in the ground-share thread. He asks "Would we lose our identity [if we were to ground share]?" What is the Everton identity?
  13. Liverpool fans have apparently started to lobby Liverpool City Council against a ground share. Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-news-Club-could-be-forced-scrap-all-stadium-development-plans-because-dispute-with-Liverpool-City-Council-article780037.html#ixzz1Ts3DrRKO There's no quotes in the article.
  14. The mirror are reporting that the scheme could be scrapped. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-news-Club-could-be-forced-scrap-all-stadium-development-plans-because-dispute-with-Liverpool-City-Council-article780037.html
  15. Rochdale say Everton are one of the reasons they do promotions: Rochdale have plenty of competition in the north-west of England, with a host of Premier League sides as well as other Championship and League One sides in the local area. "We are close to the two Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Everton aren't far away and then you have Burnley, Leeds, Oldham, Bury and Stockport all nearby and we are right in the middle of it all," said Woodhouse. "If you are a club like Hull and on your own then it is a little easier. But kids growing see Manchester United and Manchester City on television and that is what we are fighting against." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14364587.stm
