They are inflated in this country because of the 50% tax rate. Players can take home the same amount from a Turkish club (for example) and be paid half as much. That said, even if the tax rate was scrapped, I don't think wages would come down.

Incidentally, a near £10m increase in "other operating costs" was put down to moving to Finch Farm. I think it's a pipe dream, I can't see Evertonians stumping up £15m for Finch Farm. We struggled to get the £950k for Everton Collection and relied on lottery funding.

The guy was sacked.. According to Scott McLeod (Everton's digital media manger) "To confirm, it is my understanding the individual guilty of penning the racist tweet @louissaha08 has been sacked. He wasn't an Evertonian."
