  1. I think this one will happen, no sources etc. just a gut feeling. He's currently paid £2k a week so wages won't be a problem. http://www.mlsplayers.org/files/September%201,%202011%20Salary%20Information%20-%20By%20Club.pdf
  2. In my opinion, no hope. Turkish league is so attractive to people now because of the tax rules.
  3. Don't mention the "U" word around Bill, he will explode.
  4. From the other day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2081440/Everton-join-Fulham-chase-Guillaume-Hoarau.html He deserves his own thread now Everton have spoken to his representative but face competition from Lille, Rennes and Fenerbahce. No formal bid as yet. http://www.le10sport...ncurrence-57009 http://www.lorientle...eut_rester.html
  5. Manchester United transfer gossip: Darren Gibson is Everton target Paul Pogba linked with Manchester City - Transfer News - MirrorFootball.co.uk
  6. He's a red journo and the Mirror's Everton correspondent.
  7. I saw this elsewhere, It's a response from Liverpool Echo's John Thompson to someone's (I don't know) email.
  8. I can see why to be honest. "Anger at Everton's chairman, racism from a Liverpool supporter at a black player. What would Gary Ablet think?"
  9. In 2002, the board sanctioned spening near £20m on transfers because they were expecting to sign a media deal with a cable company. The deal was never signed, so the club took out a loan repayable over 25 years to cover it.
  10. pounds? Let's stick to metric eh ?
  11. Are you another who likes the Clockwork quote?
  12. There might be some money to spend, it's just interesting that the Echo were asked for a retraction/apology when they were right in the first place.
  13. They are inflated in this country because of the 50% tax rate. Players can take home the same amount from a Turkish club (for example) and be paid half as much. That said, even if the tax rate was scrapped, I don't think wages would come down.
  14. 3 September 2011 http://www.liverpool.../#ixzz1j6ycGBge 6 September 2011 http://www.liverpool...00252-29369300/3/ 11 January 2012 http://www.liverpool...tsWidget-bottom
  15. Apparently this has been on Greek TV today
  16. That was CAS' decision but the reasons behind the decision will be announced after the competition.
  17. StevO, the developers Rom Capital developed it, not Everton. I think if Everton could have afforded to develop it, they'd own it today. Incidentally, a near £10m increase in "other operating costs" was put down to moving to Finch Farm. "Further significant increases in operating costs were also incurred in the year following the opening of the new Finch Farm training facility. The additional operating costs compared with those incurred at Bellefield are seen as a necessary investment to provide the appropriate training facilities required by both first team players and academy players at a Premier League club of Everton’s standing." I think it's a pipe dream, I can't see Evertonians stumping up £15m for Finch Farm. We struggled to get the £950k for Everton Collection and relied on lottery funding.
  18. Everton have a 50 year lease on Finch Farm. They are obligated to use it unless they buy it until the lease expires.
  19. It's not a FIFA problem..It's a CAF problem, they twice rejected Namibia's complaint (unfairly imo) before Namibia took their case to CAS in Lausanne. CAF should be checking whether player's are eligible before they participate. Burkina Faso have now had 3 players withdrawn from the squad on the grounds they are not eligible. Nii Plange (Ghanaia) Herve Zengue (Cameroonian) Stéphane Agbré (Ivorian) Why is it I can know the rules yet the Portugese manager of the national team doesn't? The decision will be made today as to whether Namibia will be awarded Burkina Faso's points.
  20. You can watch extended highlights online here: http://www.evertonfc...tontv/home/6783
  21. No US team wanted him so he moved over here, he played Sunday League and was spotted by a scout..he played semi-pro for a while and later he helped Watford into the Premiership and played for USA in the World Cup.
  22. The guy was sacked.. According to Scott McLeod (Everton's digital media manger) "To confirm, it is my understanding the individual guilty of penning the racist tweet @louissaha08 has been sacked. He wasn't an Evertonian."
  23. DeMerit's film is out on the 17th if anyone's interested.
