  1. While that clause is there in his contract, there will always be doubt. It'll be unsettling, whether publicly acknowledged or not. If he is going, he should be sold as soon as possible so that funds are available for the new manager to bring in his own players before the window closes. It feels like in recent years, sales are always left 'til the final days of the window and then it leaves little time to find a replacement.
  2. Did you see Keith Wyness' comment on twitter? He said had he been in a similar situation to Elstone, he'd have offered his resignation after the apology.
  3. I'm coming around to the idea of Martinez now.
  4. I'd love it if it was an open design competition where people could vote for what they preferred.
  5. Executioner's bong has done an an analysis on Martinez here: http://theexecutionersbong.wordpress.com/2013/05/27/roberto-martinez-strengths-and-weaknesses/
  6. I'd like to see Thomas Tuchel appointed. Martinez, is an predictable/unimaginative selection. Minutes after Moyes sign with Man Utd newspapers were already suggesting that it'd be Martinez to replace him.
  7. He's taking those he brought in (excluding for Everton players bar Neville and Woods)
  8. Martinez's Premier League record: Games 152 Wins 38 Draws 43 Losses 71 win % 25% Whelan says he's not "equipped to manage" Wigan in the Championship. Whelan confirms £2m is the compensation fee should anyone want to appoint him.
  9. I'm expecting Fellaini to leave this window.
  10. Creative Review review the crest.. http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2013/may/everton-crest
  11. Dave Whelan is coming up on SSN if anyone's interested, voiceover says he's allowed Martinez to speak to Everton.
  12. I'm hoping he ends up with Malaga.. I'll be disappointed if he's appointed. http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/news/article/13-05-28-club-statement-836647.aspx
  13. I recreated the criteria that the club set themselves to design a new logo. It was pieced together from screenshots from the EvertonTV video. I think the problem is with the criteria, I don't think the "Everton" text is needed, let alone needed to be made more prominent. 1878 has been on the badge for two decades, nearly everyone knows that it's the year Everton were founded (as St. Domingos). I don't think it's needed anymore. I don't think that "Old fashioned" is always a bad thing.. next to item described as old fashioned, there is the text modernise. I think they've scrapped the laurels because they described them as historic and traditional, there are other items already on the list with those attributes so they probably didn't want to duplicate an element with those values.
  14. Is that Messi's face you've put in?
  15. There's several products on the official site including that polo shirt: http://www.evertonfc.com/moving-forward Also remember this April fool from 2006 ? - http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/8874/april-fool.html
  16. I've managed to get it up on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTkIIPyhdpU
  17. I saw on Twitter that the official site are selling statues of Moyes with the new crest: http://imgur.com/MwdaU3G The price is being reduced already: http://imgur.com/M4IpIiz Although that is a Sports Direct sticker which means it could be their normal marked down price.
  18. Shane Duffy's rubbing people up the wrong way on twitter with his comments. Paraphrased: Forget it and move on, there's nothing you can do about it anyway. Get behind the team. I don't think the badge is as bad as people say.
  19. There was a phone in on 5 live on Friday night, one of the callers asked the American sports journalists for his opinion. He said it'd be a waste of time and most players on show will be reserves. I hope he's wrong.
